Based in Rockford, Michigan, for more than 140 years, the Company's products are distributed in approximately 170 countries and territories around the world. As Corporate Communications Specialist, you will have a responsibility to promote a positive public image of the Company, to keep employees informed about company on-goings, and to bolster the strategy with open and transparent internal and external communication. The position will focus on writing and creating relevant content through a variety of platforms to our internal and external stakeholders.

  • Responsible for curating, creating and posting content across all communication channels: Wolverine Worldwide website, internal employee communications tool, digital signage, and social media channels.
  • Copywrite engaging content for internal and external audiences through press releases, internal articles, memos, speeches, and other platforms.
  • Identify public relations opportunities for the Company to highlight brands, corporate initiatives, amazing product stories, and philanthropy.
  • Maintain and adhere to an enterprise-wide corporate communications and editorial calendar across all communication platform channels.
  • Must have the ability to build relationships and identify resources needed to gather various forms of content. And must be able to actively seek out the relationships when not immediately identified.
  • Project manage the process and various contributing writers across the organization to keep a consistent and engaging flow of content both internally and externally.
  • Analyze various platform data and adjust strategy to drive the most engaging content.
  • Provide corporate event support as needed.
  • Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience, PR agency background preferred
  • Superior writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with corporate branding and identity development
  • Talented storyteller with experience identifying and developing messaging in a corporate context
  • Digital and social media savvy, and passionate about using these skills for corporate communications
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Solid project and time management skills
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal and influencing skills
